Speech and Language Therapy

Our speech and language pathologists specialize in evaluating and treating engagement, communication and feeding disorders. Our services are play based, because we believe children learn best when they’re having fun. Sensory motor techniques may also be incorporated, because it is important for your child to be at an optimum level of arousal  in order to learn new skills, and to develop over all motor planning schemes that may ultimately help with speech and language skills. Using movement can help to bring about speech and language because of the neural connections in the brain for these processes. Speech therapy addresses problems related to articulation, or inefficient oral motor skills (e.g. eating and swallowing). Language development focuses on the way the child understands spoken information and uses self expression. Our speech and language pathologists use a variety of techniques to help your child engage with you, develop a more appropriate vocabulary, and communicate more clearly and effectively.
